Concerned about Cookies?

A recent study conducted by the Internet Advertising Bureau UK into consumer attitudes to online adverts, privacy and cookies, showed that just 57% of the 2000 people asked, knew the real definition of cookies – and no, we’re not talking about the yummy chocolate chip kind. The study also showed that a large proportion of UK consumers worry about security when using the internet, with a fifth of users deleting their tracking cookies on a weekly basis.

The IAB describe an internet cookie as ‘a small file of letters and numbers stored on an internet user’s computer when a websites is accessed.’ They help websites to keep track of user information, allowing businesses to target more personal, relevant content and advertisements at you. They can also be used to remember user names and passwords on certain

How to get more Facebook likes.

Getting ‘likes’ for your facebook page is a tricky business. Many people employ social media strategies that are more ineffective than a chocolate teapot. So, what shouldn’t you do when looking for more likes on your facebook brand page?

Don’t scatter your blog post, product page or whatever other content with so many buttons it’s hard to see what you’ve actually written. It might be useful to have one or two ‘like me on facebook’, ‘follow me on Twitter’ buttons, but there’s definitely a line. Not only will you obscure your actual content, you’ll probably end up annoying the vast majority of people who visit your page, as well as putting them off coming back.

Shameless pleading for facebook likes is also another no-no. Whether you’re direct messaging obscure personal facebook friends or tweeting

Managing documents

In specific industries such as construction and architecture, document management is key to the success and completion of projects.

Union Square approached Juno with a new challenge, to help optimize their site and enable the words Document Management Software to sit at the top of search engine rankings.

Union Square Managing documents

Union Square offer a range of software options which are industry specific, allowing companies to easily process and manage documents. Systems such as Workspace, allow companies to create accounts which include every single element which is specific to a client. This could include their details, their accounts and budgets, paperwork linked to projects, automated templates, support of drawings and design and a high level of control, which prevents the duplication of documents and stops them from being misplaced.

Workspace has already revolutionised the way in which architects and building firms

The brand that launched a thousand websites.

This week at JPR we’re rubbing shoulders with our sister company Juno Web Design as they prepare themselves for 3 huge brand website launches. Everything has been tested, but when it comes to the launch and transferring a development site to a live site, we sit with bated breath.

Despite this, we’re excited about the final product and we know our clients are happy too.

Historically when we have worked on these size of projects, there is a noticeable difference right from the word go, working through all the processes of creating a user friendly site, that can provide customers with a positive experience and enable them to find the products they require and purchase them with ease.

Not only that, behind the scenes, weeks of coding and development ensure the sites perform well, not only for the customers, but in terms of SEO. That’s where we notice ratings shoot up,

Instant Analytics – Google Steps Up Its Offering

Having a website that loads pages quickly is a small but a proven positive step towards helping your website appear higher in the search engine results for your key terms. It seems to have been a long time coming, but Google now are also improving their speeds with their new, improved free analytics software.

Currently results take approximatively an hour to two hours to show on Google Analytics. By default you’re shown a date range ranging from a month ago up until yesterday’s date to hide the incomplete (and sometimes confusing) results from today’s results. Sorting out the Analytics data obviously costs Google money so it’s no surprise that there’s other paid Analytics programs out there which have more features which include realtime results.

Now Google Analytics have announced that they will be offering free “realtime” Analytics in the next couple of weeks where you can see traffic data within minutes of

Search Engine Optimisation to help Internet Marketing

Internet marketing is more than Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising and Twitter. Part of a successful internet marketing strategy is a comprehensive approach to search engine marketing with tried and tested Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques.

Internet marketing is the holistic approach to increasing your website’s visibility on the web, whereas SEO is entirely focused on visibility in search engines such as Google and Bing.

Internet marketing agencies like JPR Marketing, can offer SEO as part of an internet marketing package. Separate from internet marketing, SEO professionals have several techniques available to them to ensure that websites climb up the SERPs (Search Engine Rankings and Positions). One of these techniques is link building.

Back in the early days of SEO, you could have built several thousand links to your website and as long as you had more links than your competitors, you would come out on top. Things have become much

Internet Marketing Myths – PPC can help your SEO

This old internet marketing myth never really goes away! Because some companies have reported that they have seen rankings drop when Adwords funds have not been replenished then their conclusion is that you need to be spending money with Google to see better rankings. This theory has never been proved and we don’t think it is true anyway!

Without wishing to sound like Google’s number one fan, Google would not rank a site well if it wasn’t properly optimised for the search engines. This is because Google’s core commitment is to always return the most useful results for every search query. If it was just an issue about which advertisers throw the most money at any key terms, Google’s search results wouldn’t be useful and people across the world would use competitors without a second thought… and then advertisers wouldn’t spend their money with Google.

Why You Should Be Guest Blogging

As a PR Agency, one of the areas we advise clients on is blogging. Not only is blogging great for your website’s SEO as Google loves fresh and unique content, but it is a great way of building relationships with customers who visit your websites.

When we discuss blogging with a client, if we feel it is right for the client’s area of expertise we may recommend that they trial guest blogging. This partly involves approaching other bloggers and asking if they would publish a post you have written for their blog. It isn’t right for every client but in certain industries where relationships are just as important as the knowledge you have, it can be a valuable tool. We have compiled five reasons why you should consider guest blogging.

1. Build relationships – it isn’t always competitive with other businesses!

2. Reach new audiences – not everybody uses search engines
