Trade shows used to be a place for companies to hand out business cards, leaflets and flyers, attracting attention in a much more understated way. Your audience would walk past and take a browse, content in having a basic overview of what you’ve got to offer, but these days that’s no longer the case. Audiences expect more and you need to stand out from the crowd if you want to get people interested, so turn your attention to interactivity and you could create a stand that has the impact you want.

You need to make the most of technological advancements to turn your stand into a truly interactive space, encouraging engagement and giving visitors the chance to really get involved. Things like demos, workshops, lessons, Q&As and even iPad interactivity can all lead to the desired results, making what you’ve got to offer more accessible to your audience and getting them interested. This can transform the traditional trade show into something that businesses and visitors alike can really benefit from—by offering something different to the norm your target audience will be more engaged, more entertained and more likely to remember you in the future, offering fantastic marketing potential and giving the possibility for much better conversions.

Make sure to focus on getting visitors involved rather than being too sales-y—too much advertising won’t win you any favours and will instead make people head to the next stand, and don’t forget about the possibility of incorporating social media into things too. It’s all about getting people interested in what you’re offering and encouraging them to get more from you in the future, so when you’re planning your next trade fair make sure to think outside the box and you can get the interactivity and engagement you need to really make an impact.
